A man was critically wounded Monday afternoon in a Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was shot in his left leg and back about 4:40 p.m. when a male came up to him in the 4400 block of South Wood, took out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
