A man and woman were shot Wednesday night in south suburban South Holland.

Officers were responding about 6 p.m. to the 15200 block of Waterman Drive for a report of a disturbance when gunshots were reported in the same block, according to South Holland police.

Officers found a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman shot in the street, police said. They were both struck in their legs and feet, and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their wounds were not believed to be life threatening.

Investigators were told the shooting was related to an argument between several family members, police said. Several people left the area before police arrived.

South Holland detectives and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services Unit were investigating.
