Authorities have identified a teenage girl who was among two people fatally shot last month in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

Ryan C. Yarber, 31, faces four counts of first-degree murder for allegedly fatally shooting his wife and sister-in-law inside their home on Aug. 3, according to Crystal Lake police.

About 8 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Marian Parkway for a report of a female armed with a knife, according to police. Before they got there, police got another call saying a gunman was in the house.

When they arrived, the officers found the girl and woman with gunshot wounds inside the home. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, police and the McHenry County coroner’s office said. Two young boys were in the house at the time, but were not injured.

The woman was identified by the McHenry County coroner’s office as 31-year-old Allania S. Yarber, and the girl was identified as her sister, 15-year-old Anniyah Reynolds. The coroner’s office said both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Yarber was arrested soon after the shooting, and a gun was recovered at the home, according to police.

Police called the shooting isolated and said there was no threat to public safety, but said the investigation was “ongoing.”

Yarber is being held at the McHenry County Jail on $500,000 bond, according to McHenry County sheriff’s office records. His next court date is set for Sept. 22.
