A man was shot and seriously wounded Tuesday afternoon in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old was walking about 2:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South State Street when two males got out of a gray SUV and one began shooting, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in his mouth and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
