Man shot in Lawndale

A man was wounded in a shooting Monday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 23-year-old was walking down the street when a white Jeep drove up and someone inside fired shots, striking him in his right leg about 8:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Douglas, which is about a block from Douglas Park, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
