A 74-year-old woman from Lebanon, Oregon was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 10:50 p.m., Charlotte Butsch was walking in a crosswalk in the 7400 block of South Cicero Avenue when she was struck by a pickup truck, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died, authorities said. An autopsy Tuesday found she died of multiple injuries in the crash and her death was ruled an accident.

The 48-year-old driver of the pickup was issued a citation, police said.

Police said their investigation was ongoing.
