A man was wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.
The 23-year-old was shot multiple times about 3:10 p.m. as he stood in the 7900 block of South Vernon Avenue and someone fired from a black sedan, according to Chicago police.
He was taken by ambulance to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was in serious condition from bullets in his back, hip, arm and head, police said.
Area South detectives were investigating.
