A man was shot to death Saturday night in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Courvoisier L.M. Thurman, 28, was walking on a sidewalk at 8:47 p.m. in the 700 East block of 133rd Street when someone fired shots, striking him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Thurman was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:18 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same block as the shooting.

No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated the killing.
