A 50-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound Saturday in Austin on the West Side, according to police.

Luis Mizhquiri was discovered about 2:28 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Thomas Street, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and had a gunshot wound to the head.

Mizhquiri was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, saying he died of the gunshot wound to the head.

There are currently no witnesses to the shooting, and the circumstances are unknown, police said.

No arrests have been made as Area North detectives investigate.
