A 32-year-old man was killed Saturday after being shot in Morgan Park on the Far South Side.

Derrick Orange was inside a home at 2:23 a.m. in the 11200 block of South Homewood Avenue when someone fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was hit in the torso and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled his dead a homicide by gunshot wound to the chest.

No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.
