A Near West Side intersection was reopened hours after a crash involving a semi-tanker caused a fuel spill.

The tanker and another vehicle collided about 6 a.m. as they both tried to turn right onto Jackson Boulevard from Ashland Avenue, according to Chicago police.

No injuries were reported, but the tanker spilled the fuel it was hauling.

Ashland was closed between Van Buren and Adams streets while Jackson was closed from Paulina Street to Ashland while crews cleaned up the spill, police said. All streets reopened shortly before noon.
