‘Art on the Mart’ lights the night

The evening illumination onto Merchandise Mart runs through Dec. 30.

Hundreds gather in front of the Merchandise Mart on Chicago’s Riverwalk to watch Thursday night’s kickoff of “Art on the Mart” with a special “Nutcracker”-themed presentation from Joffrey Ballet.

The projected light show, which can be seen on Wacker Drive between Wells and Franklin streets, runs through Dec. 30 nightly at 7 and 7:30 p.m.
