With eight minutes left in double overtime, Andrew Shaw scored what he thought was the game-winning goal. It was a heads-up play to say the least.

Shaw head-butted a reflected shot from Patrick Kane into the net – soccer style.

The referees reviewed the goal and overturned it due to “deliberately head-butting” the puck into the net.

Not a lot of people knew the rule, including the tv analysts.

In the end, the refs got the call right.
