Jesus “Chuy” Garcia (left) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will face off in an April 7 runoff.

A new poll shows Mayor Rahm Emanuel is maintaining a large lead over Jesus “Chuy” Garcia ahead of the April 7 runoff election.

A We Ask America poll commissioned by the Chicago Retail Merchants Association has Emanuel getting 51 percent support from likely voters, compared to Garcia’s 36 percent support. A large chunk — 12 percent — say they’re still undecided.

The poll, conducted among 1,374 likely voters has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.

A weekly Ogden & Fry poll released on Sunday showed Emanuel with a 10-point lead, while a Chicago Tribune poll conducted on March 6 had Emanuel with a 14-point lead.

51 percent support and Garcia at 37 percent, with 11 percent undecided.
