A 16-year-old boy is in serious condition after being shot several times Friday in Morgan Park on the South Side.

The teen was walking about 1:35 p.m. in the 11000 block of South Throop Street when a dark-colored van slowly pulled up beside him, Chicago police said.

A male — wearing a skull cap — got out of the rear of the van and opened fire before getting back in and fleeing, police said.

The boy was shot in the stomach and left arm before he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

No arrests have been made. Area South detectives are investigating.
