Man shot while working on car in South Chicago alley

The 51-year-old was working about 1:45 p.m. in an alley off the 8100 block of South Paxton when someone drove up and opened fire, according to Chicago police.

A man was shot while working on his car Friday in South Chicago.

The 51-year-old was working about 1:45 p.m. in an alley off the 8100 block of South Paxton when someone drove up and opened fire, according to Chicago police.

He was shot in the arm and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives continue to investigate.
