One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting early Tuesday in Rogers Park on the North Side.

The men were sitting in a parked car in the 7400 block of North Wolcott Avenue when a gunman walked up and began firing just after midnight, Chicago police said.

Julbert Hernandez, 21, suffered gunshot wounds to the head and body and was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The other man, 20, was shot in the abdomen and leg and was taken in fair condition to the hospital, police said.

No one was in custody.
