`The buck seemed to be resting after a hard nights work,” e-mailed the Beach Park man, who described the essence of the rut. I would put the peak of the rut around here as the following day on Nov. 12.

BOTW: Unplugged is a celebration of live big bucks around Chicago outdoors and the Chicago suburban areas. It will run on the outdoors page of the Sun-Times on Sundays as long as good offereings keep coming. An extended online version appears here, usually on Saturday or Sunday. (What can I say? I’m behind from deer hunting.)
