Big summer shows are already lining up for 2012. After the recent Roger Waters at Wrigley announcement, today comes news that country superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw have joined forces for a twofer tour — arriving July 7 at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The 19-date Brother of the Sun Tour reunites the two singers on the road for the first time since their successful joint tour almost 10 years ago. Since then, they’ve each become two of the biggest stars in country music.

“When I went out with McGraw in 2001, I was just trying to find my place in the world, to learn all I could,” Chesney tells Billboard. “The year I went out with McGraw, that changed my life. It’s so wonderful that a decade later Tim and I are still doing it, still trying to record the best songs that we can and still having fun doing what we’re doing. The chemistry and the friendship and how much we’ve both been through in our lives to get where we are today, we’re going to bring all of that, every emotion, to the stage, and I think that’s going to be really fun for the fans to watch.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Soldier Field box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com by phone at (800) 745-3000.
