(THIRD LAKE) A 76-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle left the road and struck a pole Wednesday morning in north suburban Third Lake.

Patricia Kehoe, of Gurnee, was driving a red 2009 Hyundai Elantra north on Route 45 near Washington Street when the car left the road, struck a traffic pole and flipped over about 6 a.m., according to the Lake County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

Kehoe was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. An autopsy revealed she died of neck injuries, and her death was ruled an accident.

The sheriff’s office had no further details Friday morning as the crash remains under investigation.
