A 45-year-old man was critically injured and four other people were hurt in a crash Wednesday night in north suburban Long Grove.
About 9 p.m., a 2005 Toyota Camry was eastbound on Lake Cook Road then the driver tried to make a left turn onto northbound Hicks Road. The car struck a 2005 Ford Expedition traveling westbound through the intersection, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.
The driver of the Toyota was taken in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the sheriff’s office.
Four of the six people inside the Ford were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. The six people inside were four juveniles and two adults.
The sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Unit is handling the investigation.
