A 24-year-old man died after he was shot during a robbery Friday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Two people walked up to Thomas Smith shortly before 2 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Lowe, demanded his things and then shot him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Smith died at Stroger Hospital at 4:30 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 9600 block of South Dobson.
