A crash involving a CTA bus on the Lower West Side left one person critically wounded Monday evening.
The crash occurred about 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Lumber and Halsted, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Frank Velez.
One person — whose age and gender were not immediately available — was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Velez said. Several others refused medical treatment.
According to preliminary information from police, the person hospitalized was in another vehicle and not aboard the bus.
The CTA is rerouting the No. 8 Halsted bus route in both directions via Halsted, Cermak, Canal and Archer.
Additional details were not immediately available.
