Woman carjacked at gunpoint in Auburn Gresham

A woman was carjacked at gunpoint Thursday morning in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The 29-year-old woman was walking away after parking her car in the 1100 block of West 81st Street about 6 a.m. when she was approached by a man with a gun, according to Chicago Police. He demanded her keys, then drove off in her car.

The woman was not injured, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s, about 6-feet tall and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, police said. The stolen car is a red Honda Accord with license plate N388884.

Area South detectives are investigating.
