Bears predictions: Week 2 vs. the Eagles

This is a bounce-back game for the Bears after the disappointing loss in the opener. With rookie Carson Wentz starting at quarterback for the Eagles, veteran defensive coordinator Vic Fangio should have an impact. Season: 1-0

Bears, 27-24

How do the Bears do on Monday nights? I recall some real stinkers. But like flipping a coin, each time you go under the spotlight, there’s a 50/50 chance of shining bright. I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict the Bears offense will have fixed what ailed them in the second half against the Texans. Season: 1-0

Adam L. Jahns

Bears, 23-16

The Bears have a long way to go in proving that they’re a capable team. But they’re not the Browns. They are better — significantly better. Vic Fangio’s defense is a more formidable challenge for rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, who played well in his debut. But this is Wentz’s first road game in the NFL, and it’s in prime time. Season: 0-1

Bears, 24-16

The Bears have won one home game since Nov. 24, 2014. If they can’t defeat a team that finished last season with a losing record, fired its coach and replaced its quarterback with a rookie, they might as well move back to Decatur. Season: 1-0

Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz had an impressive debut against the Browns last week. This should be a step up in class against a Bears defense that figures to be better in Week 2 than it was against the Texans last week. If it’s not, this could be a long year. Season: 1-0
