Classic summer patterns set up for largemouth bass on lakes and ponds in time for the long Fourth of July weekend.

Mike Gruca of Chicago’s North Side caught this one in the “Hoffman Estates area’’ on a Senko.

“They usually take plastic worms, green colors,’’ he said.
