(ARLINGTON HEIGHTS) Overnight lanes closures on the ramp carrying eastbound traffic from I-90 to northbound Route 53 are scheduled beginning Wednesday night while a new toll collection monotube is installed.

The monotube installation work is scheduled to begin after 7 p.m. Wednesday with the closure of the I-PASS only lane at the Route 53 ramp toll plaza, according to a statement from IDOT.

One lane with an automatic coin machine lane will remain open, according to the statement. I-PASS is accepted at this lane, but drivers must come to a stop.

Overnight, full closures are scheduled after midnight to install the new monotube in segments. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 4 a.m. Thursday, in advance of the rush hour.

Similar closures will go into effect on the ramp carrying Arlington Heights Road traffic to westbound I-90 during the week of October 20.
