There’s word Avril Lavigne marriage on rocky turf — after only one year

Singer Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger have been married just a bit more than one year, but rumors are circulating that the rock stars’ union may be in trouble.

The couple have been seen arguing quite a bit, and numerous sources claim a divorce is in the offing. But there also are reports from E! News and elsewhere that Lavigne and Kroeger are looking into counseling to save their marriage. The duo became engaged in August 2013 after a whirlwind six-month courtship — tying the knot in the South of France less than one year later.

Supposedly, a lot of Lavigne’s closest pals are not fans of Kroeger, who was not on hand for his wife’s big 30th birthday last month. In addition, he has been seen out partying around Los Angeles — not wearing his wedding ring.

One source said Lavigne’s strong desire to become a mom could keep the couple together simply to have a baby. “But as we all know, that’s a terrible idea,” said a veteran music producer who is close to the couple. “Having a baby is no cure for a bad relationship. You still end up with a bad relationship, but with a child added to the mix. That’s not good.”
