In Arizona, Election Day concerns over vampires in the mines

Arizona’s State Mine Inspector is elected every four years and is charged with enforcing the state’s mining laws and investigating accidents. This year, Joe Hart is running for the position unopposed.

One write-in candidate is looking to shake up the race by shedding some light on a growing concern Hart has thus far ignored: vampires.

Enter Ian Kobe, a very serious candidate who is looking to fight the growing vampire populations that inhabit Arizona’s mines.

“The mines must be cleansed of dens — there’s no room for compromise here — No AZ Mine Draculas,” Kobe explained without being prompted by AZ Central’s voter’s guide. “I think the most prudent solution is to secure the area from vampires and seek to reduce the negative impact on local communities as part of sound mine-based reductionist policy.”
