(WAUKEGAN) A man has been charged with shooting at two police officers more than a week ago in north suburban Waukegan.

Johnny Sisson, 36, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm toward a police officer, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, resisting a police officer and domestic battery, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

Sisson was arrested Wednesday on a domestic battery warrant from 2013 after he missed a court appearance, police said. He was then identified as the man who shot at two police officers on Nov. 22.

About 7 p.m., officers responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at Glen Rock Avenue and Lincoln Street in Waukegan, police said. The officers walked up to Sisson, who fired one shot then ran away.

Sisson, who has no current home address, is being held in the Lake County Jail on a $1 million bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court Dec. 17.
