(NILES) An elderly pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in north suburban Niles Wednesday night.

About 7:20 p.m., Anastazia Grzybek, 86, was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound in the 7800 block of Milwaukee, according to Niles police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Grzybek, of the 8400 block of North Ozark in Niles, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

No citations were issued to the driver of the vehicle, according to police.
