Man shot in South Deering

A man was shot in the South Deering neighborhood Monday night.

About 7:15 p.m., the 32-year-old was outside in the 9900 block of South Calhoun when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him in both legs, police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized, police said.
