(WEST CHICAGO) A west suburban woman has been charged with seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday in unincorporated West Chicago.

Kim H. Phan, 57, has been charged with failure to report an accident involving personal injury, a felony, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

About 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Phan struck a pedestrian who had just exited a vehicle at Fair Oaks Road and Trieste Lane, then drove away, according to a statement from police.

The pedestrian was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with “significant” injuries, according to the statement.

Phan, of Carol Stream, is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
