A man and a woman were charged last week in connection with separate burglaries in northwest suburban Schaumburg.
Tatiana Ivanov, 18, broke into a home in the 600 block of Breakers Point in Schaumburg Dec. 10 and stole multiple items, according to a statement from Schaumburg police.
Ivanov, who lives in Mundelein, was arrested Dec. 18 with multiple other people for another burglary in a different jurisdiction, police said. Her arrest was a joint effort between Schaumburg police and departments in Vernon Hills, Hoffman Estates and South Elgin.
Ivanov was charged Dec. 21 with one count of residential burglary for the Schaumburg break-in. She has been released on a $40,000 bond and is expected to appear in court again Jan. 14.
Officers conducting surveillance on Christmas Even night saw 54-year-old Moris Polis “lurking” in between buildings in the 800 block of Seers Drive, according to police. He ran away as officers approached, but was soon taken into custody.
Polis, who lives in Chicago, had items commonly used to break into houses with him when he was apprehended, police said. He was charged with possession of burglary tools, but has since been released on a $25,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Tuesday.
