Four Joliet Central High School students are facing child pornography charges after they videotaped themselves having a sexual encounter and posted the video on the Internet.

All four teens — a 15-year-old girl and boys 16, 15, and 14 — were arrested Friday and charged with child pornography, Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton said.

The students videotaped a consensual sexual encounter, which was then uploaded and shared on the Internet, according to Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton.

A parent of one of the teens learned about the video and contacted police, Benton said.

All four teens appeared in court Monday and remain in custody at the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
