Police are warning residents about a series of burglaries reported this month in the West Town area.

In the reported break-ins, a man has entered homes by force or through open doors and taken property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • In the 2000 block of West Thomas about 9 a.m. May 5;
  • In the 1500 block of West Chicago about 8 a.m. May 8;
  • In the 1400 block of West Augusta about 9:30 p.m. May 11;
  • In the 1100 block of North Ashland about 8 a.m. May 15.

The suspect is described as a man between 20 and 24 years old, police said.
