A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a deer late Tuesday in northwest suburban Sycamore.

James E. Willson, 51, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Five Points Road near Old State Road in Sycamore when he struck a deer and crashed about 11:30 p.m., according to the DeKalb County sheriff’s office.

Willson, of Kingston, was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, where he was pronounced dead, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

He was wearing a helmet during the crash and speed was not a factor, authorities said.

The deer was also killed in the accident, police said.
