Woman killed in crash in Gary

A Gary woman died Monday night after a crash in northwest Indiana.

Jessica Kirkland, 31, was injured in a crash in the 2900 block of Georgia Street in Gary, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

Kirkland, of the 600 block of West 43rd Avenue, was taken to Methodist Hospital in Northlake, where she was pronounced dead at 10:56 p.m., the coroner’s office said.

Additional details from Gary police were not immediately available early Tuesday.
