Man shot in Altgeld Gardens

A man was shot early Monday in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 5:15 a.m., the 35-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 13200 block of South Eberhart when someone walked up and opened fire, police said.

The man was shot in the upper left portion of his torso and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
