Man shot in Elgin

A 28-year-old man was shot in the chest Sunday evening in northwest suburban Elgin.

The man was shot in the 1100 block of Peach Tree Lane at 6 p.m., Elgin police said in a statement.

He was treated at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital for injuries not thought to be life threatening, police said.
