SHARE Police warn of West Pullman armed robberies

Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies reported earlier this month in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

In each reported incident, at least two people approached victims, pulled out a handgun and demanded property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred:

  • In the 11900 block of South Michigan at 10 p.m. Jan. 9;
  • In the 12100 block of South Michigan at 5:40 a.m. Jan. 11;
  • In the 12000 block of South State at 9:18 p.m. Jan. 12; and
  • In the 12000 block of South State at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

One of the suspects is described as a 25- to 30-year-old black woman standing 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-8 and weighing 120-165 pounds, police said. She was wearing a red jacket.

She was accompanied by one, and in some instances two, accomplices described as 18- to 30-year-old black men between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8, and weighing 125-185 pounds, according to police. At least one of them had an Afro hairstyle and wore dark clothing.
