A man was shot as he was driving through the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side Saturday morning.

The 27-year-old told police he was driving in the 2400 block of South California about 5 a.m. when he heard several gunshots and felt pain, police said.

After he realized he was shot in the chest, he took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. He was listed in serious condition.
