Fifty-two Chicago restaurants are among the list of the annual Michelin Bib Gourmand Awards announced today.

The awards recognize eateries that offer both great food and great value (generally a pre-tax/tip tab of two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less).

Among the list are returning awardees such as Asian-inspired barbecue icon bellyQ, Paul Kahan’s Mediterranean shared-plate stunner Avec, and Stephanie Izard’s globally influenced Girl & the Goat. Newcomers to the Chicago list include Bucktown gastropub The Bristol, the contemporary Mexican hot spot Dos Urban Cantina, and the Korean barbecue haven San Soo Gab San.
