Man shot in Grand Crossing

A man was shot in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side Thursday night.

At 10:26 p.m., the 35-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 7200 block of South Stony Island when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago Police said. He took himself to Jackson Park Hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin and his condition was stabilized.

The suspect, Xavier Tate, 22, had used the card in a store not long before Huesca was gunned down on April 21 in the 3100 block of West 56th Street, Police Supt. Larry Snelling said at a news conference as Tate made his first court appearance on murder charges.
