Man shot in Chatham

A man was shot in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side Friday night.

About 9:30 p.m., the 39-year-old was sitting near an alley in the 400 block of East 79th Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition with a gunshot wound to the lower back, police said.

The crash occurred about 10:52 a.m. along North Rand Road between East Dundee Road and Winslowe Drive, according to police.
