A man was shot Friday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

About 8:30 p.m., the 22-year-old man was walking in the 700 block of North Leamington when two people walked up and demanded his property, according to Chicago Police. When he refused to hand over his belongings, he was shot in the left foot by the two people who then ran away.

The man took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and was in good condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
