Aurora police have released surveillance photos from an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven store Friday night in the western suburb.

About 11:35 p.m., two suspects entered the store in the 2200 block of South Eola Road and approached a 45-year-old employee, according to a statement from police.

One of the suspects pulled a handgun and demanded money, police said. The suspects then took the employee to a back office and continued to demand money while kicking and hitting him.

The suspects grabbed cash and cigarettes, and as they were leaving, one of them swung at a 20-year-old Aurora man who was walking into the store, police said. The man was struck in the ear but did not require medical treatment.

The employee was treated and released at a hospital, police said.

The suspects were described as black males between 5-foot-9 to 6 feet, 160-180 pounds, wearing dark clothing, police said. Both had their faces covered with bandannas.

Anyone with information should call Aurora police at (630) 256-5500 or crime stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Callers to crime stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
