SHARE Police warn of Northwest Side garage burglaries

Police are warning Northwest Side residents of five recent garage burglaries — three on the same block — in the Edison Park and Norwood Park neighborhoods.

In each incident, the burglars broke into garages by forcibly opening side doors, or entered through an unlocked door, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries happened:

  • between 10 p.m Feb. 5 and 9 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 7100 block of West Arthur;
  • at 4:40 a.m. Feb. 14 in the 6700 block of North Oconto;
  • at 4:40 a.m. Feb. 14 in the 6700 block of North Oconto;
  • between 7 p.m. Feb. 13 and 10:55 a.m. Feb. 14 in the 6700 block of North Oconto; and
  • between 10 a.m. Feb. 13 and 10 a.m. Feb. 14 in the 6600 block of North Ogallah.
