A 23-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was driving about 4:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Van Buren when the driver of a black minivan pulled up next to his car and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the left leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
