A man was shot and seriously wounded Tuesday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 23-year-old was walking in an alley in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street about 10:20 p.m. when several males walked up and someone opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the left arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

A police source said he is a self-admitted gang member.
